As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Ability to maneuver and be comfortable in deep water using watercraft (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Successful completion of lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute hands-free tread water, etc.)
Previous experience working with or teaching children is a plus
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
Must be 18 years or older
